GAle GAtes showsperformance environments, 1996 - 2003
For several years I collaborated with Michael Counts on large scale performance installations as a member of GAle GAtes et al, in DUMBO. Michael and I collaborated using unlikely juxtapositions of images and sound. His theatrical images are stunning, often bizarre, and unexpected. The music for these productions was continuous throughout and involved immersice ambient textures, aggressive rhythmic assaults, and live vocal music. The function of the electronic music was often to creatr sonic weather to which the performers can respond.
